Yağmurun Elleri | Somewhere I have never travelled
E.E. Cummins original, Barış Pirhasan translation.. well actually more like .. adaptation.
Lyrics to a beautiful song in Turkish.
[ ... ] your slightest look easily will unclose me
though i have closed myself as fingers,
you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens
(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose [ ... ]
Küçücük bir bakışın | Çözer beni kolayca
Kenetlenmiş parmaklar gibi | Sımsıkı kapanmış olsam
Yaprak yaprak açtırırsın | İlk yaz nasıl açtırırsa
İlk gülünü gizem dolu | Hünerli bir dokunuşla...
(good great translation, kudos to Barış Pirhasan!)

Hiç kimsenin, yağmurun bile
Böyle küçük elleri yoktur(*)
(*)(nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands)
I know these words from the song, I always wondered how anyone comes up with hands for rain. Rain would have hands, and they would be so small, and the hands of the loved-one would be even smaller. I love the image, and the song really makes you like it too, it's suitably soft (here I would have loved to provide a link to the song, damn those copyrights) but this sort of imagination comes to me only when I have fever.. or something :)
Thank you, Dewrak, for the wonderful image (linked from the words "small hands" above the last paragraph)
